Rachel Williams

Fine Artist

Newburgh based artist, Rachel Williams, has been painting for over 20 years. Her work captures the quiet moments of solitude and introspection that shape our inner worlds. Each piece is a meditation on the power of introspection, embodying the fleeting yet grounding essence of solitude. Through this work, she hopes to create a sanctuary for reflection and healing, offering viewers a moment of calm and self-discovery in an otherwise chaotic world.

Rachel’s work has been exhibited in Jersey City, New York City and throughout the Hudson Valley. Her paintings adorn the walls of many private and corporate art collections. Rachel studied at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the School of Art and Design at Alfred University and SUNY New Paltz. She is a full time Art teacher and mother to two beautiful little girls.

 The Banned Book Series
by Rachel Williams

Opening Reception     July 12    2-4 pm

Albert Wisner Public Library    1 McFarland Dr, Warwick, NY

July 2- August 30  2025     in the  main floor Board Room Gallery

The Banned Book Series explores the potent intersection of symbolism and allure within iconic literary works. This new body of paintings reflects on the enduring power of novels that were once staples in English classrooms-now transformed into subjects of censorship and debate. Through this series, I aim to illuminate the tension between narrative, meaning, and the shifting cultural lens through which we view these iconic novels.
